Last year over 7,500 individuals - including parents, city employees, business people, retirees, and secondary school and college students - shared their time and talents by volunteering thousands of hours in our schools. Anyone who enjoys helping young or adult students achieve great things can volunteer with the district.

Since the beginning of the City of Lakes program, members have tutored and mentored over 6,000 low-achieving students in the areas of reading and math and have provided approximately 10,000 children with after school enrichment programs. Members have also participated in service projects in their communities and worked together to develop teamwork and leadership skills.

The mission of the City of Lakes program is to support the quality education of children and youth in Minneapolis by providing academic support and enrichment activities.
