Welcome to Northwestern CT AHEC!

We’re excited to announce that the two AmeriCorps programs lead by Northwestern CT AHEC are beginning to use the timesheets and communications portions of the AmeriCorps Impact Suite. Northwestern CT AHEC enhances access to quality health care, particularly primary and preventive care, by improving the supply and distribution of health professionals.  Towards those efforts, it runs one AmeriCorps program in its home state and one national program. The state-based program is called CT AHEC NETWORK AmeriCorps.  Its AmeriCorps members lead middle and high school students in service learning projects that help to address pressing health issues in their communities. The national-level program, Youth Mental…

Washington Service Corps & Washington Reading Corps Expand their Investment in the AmeriCorps Impact Suite

Last year, the Washington Service Corps and Washington Reading Corps invested in the timesheets portion of the AmeriCorps Impact Suite for its 700 AmeriCorps members.  After a flawless first year, the programs are now expanding their investment in the Impact Suite. Specifically, the programs will be using the Data+ and Learning modules to: – Collect key data from site supervisors across the state; – Reallocate the time staff members spend compiling data from Google Docs to analyzing and acting on data; – Engage their AmeriCorps members in intentional, meaningful reflection beyond the basic “reflect here” text box; and to – Begin creating tight learning communities…

How to Choose the Best Technology Options for Your Nonprofit Program

This past week, MANY invited us to train its membership on how to ensure that nonprofits invest in systems that are properly aligned with their needs, culture, and capacity. We’re obsessed with this topic because we’ve seen far too many organizations invest in systems that not only drained precious time and money, but actually hurt their operations.   The good news is that there’s a way to avoid this, even if your organization doesn’t have systems experts or change management experts on-staff. A recording of the presentation is below.  Watch it to learn: – How to assess which technologies (if…

Success! First Annual America Learns Jam

This past week, a number of nonprofit leaders who use the Impact Suite were in Chicago for the first annual America Learns Jam.  The Jam brought together folks who we work with from across the country for a day to think about and co-design features that we can create to make our services even more valuable. The day was phenomenal and resulted in the creation of three innovative features, one of which will go into development this coming fall. We’re so thankful to have an opportunity to work with and learn from some of the best and brightest in the field….

You Can Have Your Cake…

Yesterday, we received an e-mail from the leader of a Connecticut-based program we serve, MYO AmeriCorps.  That e-mail contained the image below (along with others) of a cake she made to celebrate the end of her members’ service term last year.  The cake’s design was a screenshot of the page AmeriCorps members see when they log into the Impact Suite! We’re constantly working to give program directors, site supervisors, and members their “cake” (the tools they need to truly measure, monitor, and advance their impact).  Now they can eat it, too!

Impact at AmeriCorps Tallahassee

At least once a year, we spend 90 minutes with each of the leaders using the Impact Suite’s Data+, Learning, and Communications services, figuring out how we can continue innovating to make life better for those we serve (and, of course, for the people they serve). Earlier this morning, we led one of these sessions with Donna Harper, the leader of AmeriCorps Tallahassee.  During the conversation, we brainstormed on innovations we could bring to our student tracking system and on how we can give AmeriCorps members more abilities to use data wisely throughout the year. While reflecting on the budget hit that…
