| | Taking Stock of and Strengthening Training, Monitoring, and Support Practices |
Purpose Individuals attend these interactive sessions to reflect upon, take stock of, and make concrete plans to strengthen their volunteer, AmeriCorps member, and service-learner training, monitoring, and support practices.
The session is built around a tool we developed called The Excellence Inventory. It's especially ideal for program directors, program coordinators, and other operations staff. |

What You'll Get Out of It Create an extremely honest assessment of where your program is at around its training, monitoring, and ongoing support practices. Learn from other program leaders nationwide around how they've developed, implemented, and evaluated successful efforts in these areas. Walk away with the beginnings of an action plan to strengthen your program in one, two or all three of these areas.

"Thank you for an excellent webinar (may be the best and most effective one I haven taken part in). Your style of giving time to work through the Inventory is great, so we don't sit on the webinar, then see our voicemail light blinking with 5 messages, and never get back to [the session]. I usually multitask through webinars and found myself staying focused throughout." - Lauren Borovicka Program Coordinator ComCoprs/AmeriCorps Program Ohio University College of Osteopathic Medicine
"The Reflection and Action Hour provides eye-opening evaluation exercises to be shared with AmeriCorps program sites and other service partners that are interested in conducting comprehensive assessments of their volunteer programs." - Joseph Alustiza AmeriCorps Education Awards Program Coordinator Catholic Volunteer Network | | | | "If you are considering participating in the America Learns Reflection and Action Hour Webinar... you should! I participated on Monday and it was awesome! Great information, great worksheets and activities and... it was FUN! The session really helped me reflect on what we are currently doing and develop concrete next steps to reaching our peak performance goals. Gary, the facilitator, is very friendly and funny too!" - Megan Curran de Nieto Director of Community Health Programs CLEARCorps USA
"Using [the] 'Excellence Inventory' tool, our participants were able to identify some concrete ways they could strengthen their volunteer programs. The group work was especially helpful as it gave folks an opportunity to get feedback on their ideas." - Carrie Stith-Webster Training Officer Kentucky Commission on Community Volunteerism and Service |
